When you are involved in a car accident, emotions man be running high or you can be seriously injured. In any case, the best thing to do is check on your self first make sure you are okay then check on your passengers and the other drivers and passengers involved in the accident
Step 1: Exchanging information – When everyone seems to be okay, collect information of any drivers, passengers, and witness if you can. Get their names, numbers addresses, ID and insurance card. If there are passengers also obtain their licenses, ID and phone numbers.
Step 2: Don’t admit quilt – When talking to the other parties at the seen try not to admit any fault or say sorry. It may show or express liability. Just make sure everyone is okay and get as much information at the scene as possible.
Step 3: Taking Photos – If you are able to take pictures at the time, I highly recommended you do so. Pictures are a great piece of evidence to show insurance companies how damaged your vehicle was in the accident. Photos are also used in court so that the jury may see the comparison of how highly impacted your vehicle was and how you sustained injuries.
Step 4: Consult an attorney – Be careful when talking to your other people about your accident. DO NOT TALK TO A REPRESENTATIVE OF ANTHER INSURANCE COMPANY. The reason being is that they can use what you say against you. It’s best to consult an experienced attorney before signing anything.
